An artwork consisting of postcards from 259 countries and territories around the world. Each person can purchase one piece of this artwork. The buyer will receive one randomly selected postcard from the 259 postcards, which will be delivered with instructions after the exhibition ends. When participants eventually visit the randomly selected country, they can send a postcard back to the artist from that location. In such cases, the act and the postcard become part of the artwork, and the sender is credited as a co-creator. Currently, 280 people are participating in this project.

世界259の国と地域のポストカードで構成された作品。1人1枚この作品を購入することができる。購入者には259枚のポストカードの中から1枚がランダムに選ばれ、展覧会終了後に指示書と共に届けられる。いつかランダムに選ばれた国を訪れた際、参加者はその場所からポストカードを作家へ送り返すことができる。そうした場合、その行為とポストカードは作品となり、送り主は共同制作者としてクレジットされる。現在、280名がこのプロジェクトに参加している。

Instructions for ‘Swept Along, but Not Swept Away’

-Travel to the country or region indicated on the postcard you received.
-There is no time limit for this project; it can be realized at any point in your life.
-It is not necessary to reach the final destination. The journey process itself is free.
-You may send the postcard to Rui Yamaguchi from the randomly selected destination.
-You may also send the postcard to Rui Yamaguchi from any other destination.
-The postcard and your act of sending it will become an artwork, and you will be credited as a co-creator.
-Rui Yamaguchi assumes no responsibility for any incidents that may occur during your journey.

-送られたポストカードに記された国または地域を旅すること。
-このプロジェクトに期限はなく、人生の中でいつか実現できればよい。
-最終的に目的地に辿り着かなくても構わない。旅のプロセスは自由である。
-目的地に選ばれた場所から、そのポストカードを作家宛に送り返すことができる。
-目的地に選ばれていない場所からでも、そのポストカードを作家宛に送り返すことができる。
-送り返されたポストカードと行為は作品となり、送り主は共同制作者としてクレジットされる。
-旅の過程で起こりうるいかなる事態についても、作家は責任を負わないものとする。
